Replacement and renovation work requires a number of constraints to be taken into account when carrying it out. We were asked to replace a large pane of glass in St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.

The particularity of this operation lay in the combination of the size of the glazing and therefore its weight, with the location at which it had to be installed, on the seafront, in a space with no access. This meant that all conventional methods of transport and lifting were out of the question.

Replacement of a large pane of glass with difficult access

The particularity of this job lay in the combination of the size of the glazing, and therefore its weight, with the location at which it had to be installed, on the seafront, in a space with no access. This meant that all conventional methods of transport and lifting were out of the question.

We have a team of experienced installers and solid experience of the topography of our department since 1992.

Rapid replacement using adapted equipment

As this was a seaside building, we opted to transport the glazing using a specially equipped caterpillar to take account of the size and weight of the glazing. Our team of fitters accompanied the glazing from the beach to the green space between the building and the sea. Using this type of equipment is extremely agile and avoids damaging the surrounding green spaces.

Once the glazing had arrived at its destination, we used a second caterpillar specially equipped with a lifting crane. This enabled us to position the glazing in its final location, making installation easier for our fitters.
