Replacement of windows and shutters in Cagnes-sur-Mer
Joinery replacements in a stone house
We were approached to replace windows and shutters, with a special request to retain the exact colour of the shutters to match the stone colour of the house perfectly. The windows were replaced using the renovation installation method. This involves fitting the new window on the existing structure, thereby limiting the amount of work required, particularly on the inside of the house. Finally, one of the challenges of the project was to create curved joinery at the top, so that it would fit perfectly into the current location.
Shutter replacement with bespoke colour
To meet our customer’s needs, we proposed aluminium joinery as a replacement for wood. We also proposed structures that use thermal break to provide better thermal insulation. The windows also feature burglar-proofing, as they are all located on the ground floor. As this is a renovation project, we have optimised three aspects in order to preserve light. Firstly, we proposed windows with slim jambs. Secondly, we opted for windows with a concealed sash, to further optimise the size of the structure and leave more space for the glazed area. Thirdly, our customer wanted to retain the style of the window, in particular by keeping the cross bars. We suggested stainless steel bars, which are thinner and preserve the style while optimising the glazing. As far as the shutters are concerned, we found the exact sandblasted colour that corresponded to the old shutters. It goes perfectly with the colour of the stone, which is particularly well suited to old buildings.
